OPBA Recognizes Two Of It's Members


Executive Director Terry Gallagher recognized Patrolman Kenneth Collins and Sergeant James Mariner from the Sheffield Lake Police Department for their actions on July 7, 2009 when responding to a call of a possible suicidal female failed to get a response at the door, entered to check the residence and found the female in a closet hanging by a sheet around her neck.

The victim was unresponsive and had no vital signs. The officers cut the victim down and proceeded with cardio pulmonary recessitation until the victim began breathing on her own and paramedics arrived.

Police Chief Larry Sheppard and the OPBA commends these fine officer for their action. They will be nominated by the OPBA for a national award during police week 2010.
